Inspired by japanese persimmon tradition

smell like yourself again.

From midlife on, skin produces a compound that regular soap can't wash away. Persimmon extract binds to it and rinses it off - removed at the source, not hidden under perfume.

omuro persimmon tannin body soap

the science of aging odor

why regular soap falls short.

Somewhere in midlife, skin starts making an oily compound with a distinctive musty note. It settles into skin and works its way into collars and pillowcases — and because it's oil-bound, everyday washing glides right over it.

Persimmon is the exception. The extract latches onto the compound and carries it down the drain - gone at the source, not covered up.

Regular soapCleans what's on the surface — the oil-bound compound stays put, and the smell comes back by evening.

made for exactly this.

"First soap in years that doesn't leave my skin tight and itchy after. And the smell I was worried about, my daughter says it's not there anymore. She'd know. She's the one who told me."

James T.

"My wife noticed before I did, she always does. She ordered it, I humoured her, and about ten days in she stopped mentioning it. That silence is the review."

"I'd been washing twice a day and still catching that musty. maybe 2 weeks with this and appears to have gone. No perfume, nothing to cover it up, I smell like nothing, which is exactly what I wanted."

frequently asked questions.

Is this just going to mask the smell with a stronger perfume?

No. Masking is what sprays and heavy lotions do. Persimmon extract works differently: it binds to the odour compound itself so it rinses down the drain.

My skin is thin and dry - will this make it worse?

This is the objection the bar is built around. Too many bars in this category run their persimmon in a harsh, stripping base - ours pairs it with shea butter and coconut oil so the wash softens as it cleanses, with vitamin E for aging skin.

It's all on the label, so you don't have to take our word for it.

Why does it cost more than a supermarket bar?

Persimmon extract at levels that actually work isn't a supermarket-priced ingredient — that's where the money goes.

A little also goes a long way: the lather builds fast, so you use less per wash. And multi-bar bundles cost less per bar because we pass the shipping savings straight on to you.

What makes it different from regular soap?

Ordinary soap can't dissolve the oil-based compound behind aging odour - scientists call it 2-nonenal - so washing alone leaves it sitting on the skin. The tannins in persimmon extract latch onto it at the source, and it rinses away instead of being perfumed over.
